I have to confess, I never look through our mailbox, because whenever I look for a band for New Band Day, I like picking one myself. It’s come to the point that just selecting one from the mail feels like cheating. It feels like somebody has done the homework for me and now I’m basking in the fruits of their labor. What a fool I’ve been. It takes me hours sometimes to find a band that I love enough to write about on my own. Then I’m left hoping they’ve put enough info on their myspace for me to look half competent. I’ve rummaged through the mail for oh, half and hour and I’m done! The best thing is, if this band weren’t layed on our doorstep a few days ago, it would still be the kind of band I’d choose to write about.
A while ago, aDawgg came across The 1900s who are on the cuff of releasing a brand new album. In the meantime, their front man Edward Anderson has been busy working on his solo debut as well, which came out four days ago. He calls himself Mazes and his band comprises of fellow 1900s member Caroline Donovan and friend Charles D’Autrement. Their sixties psychedelic, folk, country sound bares some resemblance to the band that bore them, but it’s more intimate and less polished yet still manages to shine brighter. I can’t help but get swept away by this beautiful, campfire-sing-a-long-at-a-hippie-commune song. Beautiful voices sing their bittersweet lyrics on a sea of tranquil rhythms and melodies. It’s the perfect Spring anthem.

Interesting..
Thanks For keeping it on point – it’s always easier to read that way
