This Little Wonder record from 1916 is a cover version of the same song on Victor records in 1904 and Columbia cylinder in the 1890′s. Bot of those records can be heard on youtube, just go to youtube and search for camp meeting jubilee. Both of the older records mention “rocking and rolling in your arms”

Also, the Camp Meeting Jubilee was also recorded in 1904 on Victor Records by the Hayden Quartette, record #4003, and on a brown wax Columbia cylinder in the 1890′s and both times it’s the same song with “rocking and rolling” in the lyrics. Both can be heard on youtube.

I am the above mentioned Morgan Wright from Hoy Hoy records and I’m here to tell you, the first rock and roll record was Big Joe Turner’s “Roll Em Pete” recorded in 1938. It’s all there. You need to give it a listen.

I have been wanting to find the original lyrics but cannot find them. I only see the sShaggy version, which is TOTALLY different. So I went on youtube and listeded to to the original version by Folkes Bros, but some times I could not understand what was being said. I listened to 2 or 3 other artists versions and they are slightly different, but not the same as the unintelligible original. So here is my mixed as close as possible to the original version, which i am learning and I like to sing and play on guitar.
